Prepare Your Smile for a Great Photo Shoot

Maybe you’ve spent hours deciding what you’ll wear for the shoot. Perhaps you’ve meticulously applied your makeup, but are you uncomfortable with showing your teeth when you smile? If you’re like most people, you are concerned about how you will look in your professional photos, and a key element of a great photo is a confident and brilliant smile. I’ll definitely do my part in helping you feel comfortable while we take the photos, but here are ways that you can make sure your smile is ready for a close-up.

Brush and Floss Beforehand

It may seem simple or obvious, but you should take a couple of minutes to brush and floss your teeth before leaving the house for the photo shoot. After all, the last thing you want is a bit of food from lunch to draw attention!

Whiten Your Teeth

If you’re a regular coffee drinker or chocolate eater, you may have more set-in stains on your teeth that age your smile. A few weeks before our photo session, you can whiten your teeth at home with store-bought treatments or pay a visit to your dentist in Irving. Although commercial whitening tends to cost less, it will only make your teeth a few shades whiter over a two-week period. In contrast, professional-grade whitening with your dentist can brighten your smile by up to 10 shades in just one visit!

Work with a Dental Professional

Do you have chips, gaps, or cracks in your teeth? You may require more work to get your dream smile. Your cosmetic dentist in Irving offers a wide range of treatment options that can meet your needs. Porcelain veneers, cosmetic bonding, porcelain crowns, tooth and gum recontouring, and more can make your smile goals a reality in a relatively short period of time.

Have Fun!

Your photo session isn’t meant to be stressful or tedious—at least not with me! Although we will use a few posed photos, some of the best ones consist of candid moments. I love to capture my clients laughing or showing their personality. We have a good time during the shoot, and you’re sure to enjoy yourself and have truly stunning photos if you let loose and have a little bit of fun!

While you’re getting ready for our shoot together, don’t forget to dedicate some attention to your teeth. If you follow these tips, you’ll be ready to let your real smile shine! As a result, you’ll have photos and memories to treasure for years to come.
